Getting 60 Category 1 AMA credits for the MOC-4 Programs!

Because the MOC-4 programs conducted through CHADIS are certified by ABMS, physicians can receive a standard three year AMA Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) for completing them, and/or can claim sixty (60) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for successfully completing them.

To obtain credit, the physician must apply directly to the AMA by completing (1) the AMA PRA online application or written application to receive the AMA PRA or (2) the Direct Credit Application to receive a credit certificate. Complete instructions are found on the forms.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ may only be awarded to physicians who have completed MD, DO or an equivalent medical degree from another country.

Documentation required: A copy of the board certificate or the specialty board notification letter. You will get the certificate from your CHADIS Account Manager after you complete the MOC-4 program.

Fee to pay to AMA = $30 AMA member or $75 non AMA member

Completed applications and verification documentation may be submitted to the AMA via email at pra@ama-assn.org or via fax at 312-464-5129.

Note that the application will ask for your Medical Education (ME) number.  The ME number is a unique identification number assigned by the AMA to each physician or medical student when they are added to the AMA Physician Masterfile.
